My brain doesn’t seem to want to kick-over today, so let me just get right to the MEAT. IGN had a talk with Bryan Singer the other day and during that chat he confirmed that the next X-Men movie will be titled DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. He went on to say that the movie would deal with some of the stuff from the original story but there would also be some new stuff…pie, maybe? One can hope.
Here’s the video interview so you can see for yourself.
If you don’t know, Days of Future Past takes place in a future where mutants are rounded up or killed by giant robots called Sentinels. To stop this future from happening, an adult Kate Pryde switches her consciousness with her past self in order to stop the assassination that triggers the hoopla.
Oh, Time Travel, my old nemesis. We meet again!
A lot of people love this storyline, probably because old versions of characters are usually cooler than their younger counterparts. Truthfully though, my only exposure to this story was back in the cartoon show and I think I remember liking it, so that should be a feather in it’s cap.
Stories like these always run the risk of being comparatively lame once the action leaves the future for the present, but hopefully they can avoid that through much running/punching.
