I just ate a chicken sandwich from Popeye’s…that coupled with the news of a new GODZILLA movie courtesy of Bloody-Disgusting, well, that’s damn near a perfect day in my book. There isn’t really a ton of information yet except that they want this new movie to be a reboot.
I haven’t seen the original black-and-white GODZILLA in a dogs age, but I remember liking it and actually being engrossed with the idea of giant monster destruction. But after that first one, the concept became bastardized and an excuse to laugh at some shmuck in a rubber suit kicking toy trains (and don’t even get me started on those annoying tiny-twins in MOTHRA…or Mothra in general; what a terrible monster idea, giant moth, geez), so I would definitely welcome a new take. I’m definitely hoping for a more straight-faced movie than the 1998 movie that had too many lame jokes and awful side characters that I didn’t care about.
