As you may recall with your mind, Fox has been looking for a new director for their DAREDEVIL reboot for a couple weeks now after David Slade had to bale because of reasons. This put Fox in a corner since if they don’t get a movie filming by October the rights to the character will revert back to Marvel.
Fox really doesn’t want to lose the rights because, as Variety is reporting, the studio is looking to make a new DAREDEVIL that is a “Frank Miller-esque, hardcore 70s thriller” directed by Joe Carnahan, but…the clock is ticking. So what are they going to do?
One option that has been put forward by Marvel Studios is that Marvel will increase Fox’s Daredevil license time, but in return they want the rights to the Silver Surfer and Galactus back. Right now, Deadline is saying that Fox isn’t interested in the swap, but desperate times can call for desperate and silvery measures. Oh, what a tangled web!
So now we wait on Fox’s final decision. Will they hand back Silver Surfer and Galactus to give themselves a cushion or will they risk losing Daredevil to hang onto two supporting characters that they probably won’t be using any time soon?
Tick…tick…tick…
