Ancient Sniping.

As you are probably aware, there is a new ROBIN HOOD movie coming out by Ridley Scott and starring Russell Crowe as Robin. To make you hungry for more chainmail, the studio has released a trailer. You may enjoy it by going to this link.

That trailer was solid even though it really only showed two battles, but cut in such a way as to make it seem like twenty. The talent involved is good, but I just don’t know if I can get psyched for another ROBIN HOOD movie. I still say they should have kept this a movie about the Sheriff of Nottingham, which would have been cooler. Oh well, maybe someday.

Robin Hood: Men In The Future.

According to Risky Biz Blog, a company called Atlas Entertainment and another company called Hollywood Gang are going to be tag-teaming a new movie about Robin Hood…in the future. The movie takes part in a post-apocalyptic London, where some thieves help restore the cities hope in humanity or whatever (as stealing from others often does).

Nicolai Fuglsig, whose name I can’t pronounce, pitched the movie to the suits and will direct.

I’ll have to know a little bit more about this movie before I get interested, but at least it isn’t the same Robin Hood movie we’ve already seen a million times. I really hope Robin doesn’t use a bow in the future or if he does, they at least explain why he chose the Edsel of the weaponry world. Honestly, is there anything stupider than seeing a modern action hero wielding a bow-and-arrow while everyone around him/her is using semi-automatic machine guns? The only exception is Rambo since he only started using a bow in FIRST BLOOD: PART II because he forgot the silencer for his gun, and it became a kind of trademark thing afterward. Everyone else; it doesn’t make you look cool or retro, it makes you look like a gimmick. Don’t be that guy.
