Stick And Clank.

I’m still not terribly sure if the upcoming movie REAL STEEL is an action movie or not (sure, it’s about fighting robots, but it also involves bonding and feelings), but I mentioned it once before so I’ve decided to ride this pony till it crosses the finish line because I’m a man! Anyway, two new pictures from the movie popped up over at Ain’t It Cool and here is one of them.

He said your mother wears combat wheels!

He said your mother wears combat wheels!

Now, I know what you’re saying. “Hey, you said there were two pictures and you only posted one! What gives?!” Alright, look, I’m feeling pretty lazy alright. I’m not proud of it, but there it is. Also, the other picture was just a shot of Hugh Jackman and the director…nothing to write home about.

Anyway, looks like Wolverine has himself a pretty cool looking robot. He even comes customized with some douche-bagesque oriental writing decals. I’m surprised he doesn’t have a “NOS” sticker on him somewhere. Perhaps that’s a little to harsh, especially considering most actual fighters pants are adorned with advertisements for things that are far worse, like condom-depot. I really hope they pay a lot.

You Can Keep Your Fake Steel.

The world’s most attractive male, Hugh Jackman, and his spectacular abs have signed on to star as a boxing promoter in the sci-fi movie REAL STEEL, so says Variety. If you’ve ever seen old episodes of THE TWILIGHT ZONE then you’ve probably already seen this movie since the original story was also adapted into an episode.

The basic premise is that human boxing has been outlawed because it is to violent, so the only boxing that is allowed is robot boxing. So there is Hugh Jackman and his abs, an ex-boxer who tries his hand at promoting but because he’s poor he can’t afford good parts and crap so he loses a lot…that is until he stumbles upon an old robot that always seems to win. Along the way he mends the relationship he has with his son and there are scenes that pull at your heart strings and what-not.

Maybe it’s just me, but I dig movies like this. The underdog scrapping against the big guys in hopes of reaching the top where there will be money and women waiting…with robots. Hugh Jackman is a great actor too, though I think he may be a little too pretty to play a hardened old boxer, though maybe they can ugly him up through CG or something or other.
