The Big News From Persia.

In an effort to convince people that there is no better use of their hard-earned money than purchasing tickets to PRINCE OF PERSIA: THE SANDS OF TIME, Disney has released a new trailer. This version doesn’t have enough back-flipping for me…your mileage may vary.

It looks pretty good for a video-game movie, but it will be terrible anyway. That’s just how it is.

I’ve Got Sand In My Everything.

In ancient times, a video-game called PRINCE OF PERSIA: THE SANDS OF TIME was created about a Persian prince who could stop time. And now comes the movie based on the game! You may rejoice and watch the trailer below, not necessarily in that order.

Being that this is a video-game adaptation, it will be awful. That’s not just me talking either, that’s 20 years of history talking too. Oh well, at least there’s a lot of jumping and things going “woosh!”

To start the movie-going publics salivary glands producing hunger juices in anticipation of their film PRINCE OF PERSIA: THE SANDS OF TIME, Disney has tossed out a few picture morsels to the internet. The first two are of the main characters, the Prince (looking very regal in his leather muscle-shirt) played by Jake Gyllenhaal and his love interest played by Gemma Arterton. They come from Empire.

Is my beard evil enough?

This movie confuses me. I know that all video-game movies are terrible, but this looks like it could be alright. It’s still really early so I’m gonna stick with my gut and say that it will be terrible. The numbers just don’t lie.

The people over at the ABC television network recently showed some kind of special on movies and decided that they might as well interview Jerry Bruckheimer for it…so they did. During the conversation in what Hollywood people think is an average person’s living room, some footage from THE PRINCE OF PERSIA was shown. You may enjoy it if you see fit.

The action pieces look pretty good and I usually dig any movie that has a person wielding “Vega blades.” I think I was most impressed with the pull-back shot of the city set. It looked damn cool. I would also like to commend the people over at Youtube for their choice of starter image. It looks like whoever is conducting the interview just had the most delightful bowel movement, one that I am greatly jealous of.

I would hope by now that people know what my feelings are regarding movies based on video-games, and that still holds true for this one. Maybe next time.
