Bend It.

Friday, February 5th, 2010

I’m afraid that it’s been a long day and my energy reserves are running on zero, so I’m going to get right to the point (STOP CHEERING!). This Sunday, there will be a football game played in Miami and during that game a new trailer for THE LAST AIRBENDER will be debuted. In anticipation for this new trailer, the studio has released a trailer for the trailer. Gander away.

That’s a pretty sweet looking commercial. I’m actually pretty impressed that the effects looked as good as they did considering that they’re probably not finished yet. And the best part is that when the movie is over, we can all sit around and act like we all knew what the twist was before it happened! Good times.

Get Bent.

Boy; that sure is a mean article title. I wonder what got stuck in my craw. Whatever it is, I’m sure it’s impressed with my use of the word “craw.”

Back to the business at hand; it’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about the live-action adaptation of the cartoon THE LAST AIRBENDER, but the silence is now broken! Well, not technically the silence because all we have are some new pictures from Empire magazine, but you know what I mean. At least I hope you do…this is turning into a pretty terrible article. Please go to Ace Show Biz and see the pictures of a small, bald child.

I really dig the look that M. Night is going for with this movie; it all looks very “Kung-Fu”y. The only worry I have is that the action scenes are going to blow because Shyamalan has never directed a fight before and it’s pretty easy to mess it up.

Tease My Bender.

Looking up at that title, I am a little confused by it. Go ahead and check it out again…does it make any sense at all? Maybe I was going for some kind of veiled sexual metaphor, but if I was, it wasn’t very well thought out.

Oh yeah, there’s news afoot! Well, not news, but a trailer, which is like confirmation of news. It’s like some studio guy going “years ago we told you about this movie we were going to make and here’s the proof!” The movie is M. Night Shyamalan’s live-action version of the cartoon AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER. For the movie they dropped the AVATAR part from the title probably because they don’t want people to get it confused with that James Cameron movie that’s coming out. Become teased!

As far as teaser’s go, it’s pretty good. The arrow-headed kid’s kung fu is obviously strong and gaseous. He must get really bored up in that tower all by himself. He probably spends most of a normal day just lighting candles in a giant circle so he can blow them out using magic. I imagine afterward he throws up his hands like he just won the World Series, then covers his mouth while saying stuff like “and the crowd goes wild! HAAAAAA! HAAAAAA!”
