After a lot of yakking and hand-holding, it appears that MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 4 will be coming to theaters on December 16, 2011…mark your calendars. Tom Cruise will be returning as Ethan Hunt who will probably accept a scary mission of some kind or another.
There have been rumors going around that Brad Bird would be directing (you may remember him from such movies as THE IRON GIANT and RATATOUILLE) and Tom Cruise basically confirmed it when he spilled the beans to Empire.
Now, because this is America and I, as an American, believe that millionaires can do what they feel like, I have no problem with these gents making another MISSION: OF VARYING LEVELS OF POSSIBILITY. At this point though, I don’t know how excited I can get for another one. They’ve already had three chances and they’ve only been able to make two “hey, that was pretty good” movies and one “BWAHAHAHAHA doves?! Seriously?!” movie. Eh, I’m sure it’ll be entertaining when I catch it on AMC.
