Now here’s a movie that has kind-of snuck-up on me. It’s called HANSEL AND GRETEL: WITCH HUNTERS and it stars Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton as, uh, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters. It is being directed by Tommy Wirkola who made the awful DEAD SNOW and should be ashamed.
The movie sees Hansel and Gretel all growed-up after the experience of almost being eaten by a witch and murdering her in self-defense. Apparently, that experience kind of screwed them up. So now they run around killing other witches and posing in woods. Our first official look at the main characters comes from an interview that Arterton did with Entertainment Weekly the other day. Yeah, can’t say I’m terribly interested. It just looks so ordinary…but maybe I’ll change my tune when the trailer is released, which should be sometime this week or next. Until then I remain, myself, indifferent.
