Mark Millar has been trying to find someone to direct the movie adaptation of his comic NEMESIS for a while now and it looks like he may have found his man. According to a post he made on the Millarworld message board, Joe Carnahan is officially set to direct the movie from a script that he co-wrote with his brother Matt.
Nemesis tells the tale of a super-villain named Nemesis who is basically an evil Batman. He goes around causing all sorts of ridiculously over-the-top murder sprees all to torment one cop and his family. It’s basically just an excuse to show huge death counts and gore.
I can’t stand villains like Nemesis. That whole “I’m a million steps ahead of you at all times and even when you have beat me I actually just let it happen and BAWS” crap is just lame and lazy writing. And the twist at the end…why do people read this stuff?
Anyway, maybe the movie will improve on the terrible idea, but who knows. Maybe I’ll see it when it’s free.
