Hey there! How’s it going? Oh, me…I just thought I’d pop in and let you know what’s been going on lately with the JUSTICE LEAGUE movie.
Do you remember how it was being reported that Warner Bros. was hoping that Ben Affleck would direct the thing? Well, as most of us could have guessed, he’s not. This is what Mr. Fleck told 24 Hours Vancouver:
I’m not working on the Justice League. One of the problems with entertainment web sites is that they need to fill pages, and that’s how rumours get started… Justice League sounds really exciting, but it’s not something I’m working on.
Almost immediately after the news that Affleck was out, Movie Hole stood up with a rumor of their own. This time, they’re saying that the Wachowski’s are the ones that Warner Bros. wants. Movie Hole makes sure to mention that this is only a rumor, which means that it probably won’t happen, but hey, it’s good print.
So, that’s what’s currently brewing with the director situation, but what about the movie itself? Batman on Film has learned that the WB is planning on JUSTICE LEAGUE to be the next DC movie after MAN OF STEEL. So we might be seeing the League in theaters by the Summer of 2015. This also means that the new Batman would be introduced in JUSTICE LEAGUE and then have his solo movies spin-out from there.
It seems that Warner Bros. is really going to go through with this whole JUSTICE LEAGUE thing for real this time, which could be cool, but who knows at this point. For now though, I’m going to get out of the JUSTICE LEAGUE-rumor business. Every bum with a website (*waves*) seems to be finding unnamed sources to interview for rumors that suck; so until something concrete comes along I’m going to ignore that stuff.
