After all the crap that’s been shoveled onto the ROBOCOP remake over the last few weeks, it must feel good for it to have something positive to report and it doesn’t get more positive than Michael “Batman” Keaton! That’s right, Deadline is reporting that Michael Keaton has taken over the role that Hugh Laurie declined, that being the CEO of OmniCorp, Raymond Sellars.
This is some of the best news I’ve heard in…gosh; when did COBRA come out? Well, needless to say, it’s been a while. Michael Keaton is an amazing actor that never seems to get the respect that he deserves, so I’m really glad to see him getting some work in a big movie again…even if it is a remake of ROBOCOP.
This news does put me in kind of a tight spot though. Do I have to root for this new ROBOCOP to succeed in order to get more Michael Keaton in the future? Ugh, it’s like making a deal with the Devil.
