If you’ve ever seen Denzel Washington act in a movie or his living room from outside a closed window then you have a pretty good idea of what you’ll see when he stars in THE EQUALIZER. According to Deadline, the movie will likely start shooting in April, probably up near Boston way.
The movie is based on the T.V. show that starred Edward Woodward as an ex-covert operations officer who wanders the countryside equalizing everything in his path with extreme JUSTICE. The movie will be changed a little bit so as to make sure Denzel doesn’t have to play a character any different than the ones he’s played a million times before.
There aren’t any directors currently attached to this, but the names that are being tossed around as possibilities are Pierre Morel, Nicolas Winding Refn, Gavin O’Connor, and Gareth Evans. Yes, another movie that is bypassing my directorial talents. When will Hollywood learn?!
This will probably be a pretty good movie as it sounds like a perfect fit for Denzel. And really, who doesn’t like to see things equalized? It’s my second favorite thing, just behind baconizing.
