If you love Moses and E.T. as much as me, then you’re going to really like this news coming from Deadline. Apparently Steven Spielberg will be directing an Exodus movie called GODS AND KINGS, which will give us the story of Moses in a “grittier” fashion.
From what I’m hearing they’re looking for Spielberg to make this movie like he did SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, which seems stupid. This movie is about a man who proclaims the coming of plagues, talks to God through a burning bush, and parts the Red Sea…this isn’t a movie that really fits into a gritty, realistic setting. I honestly don’t understand Hollywood’s obsession with making the fantastic realistic. I like seeing the fantastic on the big screen since I get to see reality every day. Show me something I haven’t seen!
