Sylvester Stallone has written a script for a movie called HOMEFRONT that will probably be extraordinary. He won’t be directing or acting in it, which bums my bum, but he’s got a pretty good cast to carry it regardless. Variety is saying that Jason Statham and James Franco will star while some guy named Gary Fleder will be directing.
HOMEFRONT is about an ex-DEA agent with a mysterious past who moves his family to a small town in an effort to escape from stuff. Soon he finds out that the town is overrun with goons under the control of a meth magnate. Violence happens.
Regardless of what you might be thinking, Statham will be playing the DEA agent and Franco will be the meth magnate…awkward.
When I first read this news I was 100% sure that Statham would be the bad guy and Franco would be the everyman hero, but apparently Hollywood wanted to screw with me. Is it because I’m always calling them stupid? Perhaps, but they are, so it really isn’t my fault.
I kind of wish the hero in this movie didn’t have a family so it could have more of a ROADHOUSE vibe. I like ROADHOUSE…I think I need to watch that again.
